I definitely think FLORE FLORE justifies a higher price in its quality. Their fabric is buttery and sturdy, and the fitted cut of their products especially is the brand's most distinguishing feature in comparison to alternatives on the market. I will say, because of the fitted nature and material, if you don't like the feeling of a snug neckline, you might want to choose an alternative model like the Dewi tank(a deep v, which I personally prefer) or the Hillie. They have several more options with open necklines, which are unique but still meant for everyday wear. Worth trying!

Totally agree with you about their sturdy fabric and fitted cut as a distinguishing feature. That's why I ultimately kept going back to the FLORE FLORE tank because it just stood out to me among the rest in terms of style, fit and fabric. Gonna check out these other options - thanks for the recos!

Rena I love the vote of confidence for Flore Flore! I bought a long sleeve from Moda Operandi and I hope the necklace isn't too restrictive for me (I'm a little sensitive about it). I'll report back!

Hi kelly we are in so many chats together this summer (howdy) & I love your solution to the transparency of the links/commissiob. So brilliant. Funny as 1st goes to Ssense.. & I prefer to buy live if possible, & directly from brand if not

Thank you for all the options

I started wearing these t’s last summer & I think they changed the fabrication.. mine was not esme it was a square neck tank .& if didn’t hold its shape

Luckily I later bought a t & I love the kind again xo

Hi Debo!! That is great advice! I’ll be honest, I used the SSENSE link first because it was the least expensive and (for me) price is the top consideration for things. I tried to use each of the 4 retailers as I linked throughout but, ultimately, wanted to link the full catalogue so people could prioritize price, retailer, or affiliate payout even. I so appreciate you letting me know your priority!

Any tips on sizing? I'm usually a medium in most tops and my bust is 32D. Unsure if I should size up to a large

I would size up! My friend recommended me sizing up in the brand.

I took my regular size but I also have a smaller bust. There is quite a bit of stretch in the Esme tank, however, not sure if a bigger bust might affect the armholes and stretching too far out in the chest area. The tank is fitted, so like Kelly and the website suggests, it may work better to size up!

I’ve been eyeing the Flore tanks for awhile so it was great to read this review. I’m always looking for fitted tanks to wear to ballet class and I think these could work well. Maria looks great in all of her pictures wearing it.

She really sells it with her styling of it!!

Thanks, Sita! Oh, I definitely think it could work well for ballet class. Because of the coverage and thicker straps, it's easy to move in without having to constantly worry about adjusting the top.

I’ve been so curious about this brand for over a year! Thank you for your breakdown, Maria. It was very thorough and definitely making me consider it for a potential future purchase.

Had you heard of the brand before SS? I swear the chats are filled with Flore Flore mentions but it wasn't even on my radar before that!

Expand full comment

Yes, actually! I think I originally saw them on instagram last summer. I don’t recall them being super popular or at least among the influencers I followed. I think I started hearing more about them in the fall.

IMO the flore flore tank is worth the hype! I have a couple I bought from the ssense sale. Absolutely no regrets.

I love that you second Maria’s conclusion!! Truth be told, I bought my first Flore Flore shirt last week and it arrives today 🙌

Can’t wait to hear what you think! I roll my eyes at any t shirt that costs more than $50 but when I can find them on sale I always pick them up. Same with the re done 1950s box tee.

Ooh I'll have to watch out for the next ssense sale to buy another one then! Love a good deal. I'm with you - as soon as I tried on the Esme tank, I had no regrets.

I think I’m in the minority in saying that the esme tank wasn’t a good fit for me even though I desperately wanted it to be 😭 I’m a 32DD and tried size small and medium but the armholes came up too high into my armpit. I want to try another style though.

Oh no, that's too bad it didn't work out! I could see how that would be an issue. Hopefully another style works better for you!
